When at the synagogue, it is tradition to wear a tallit, prayer shawl, over one's shoulders. Decorative clips are used to keep it in place. These pewter-based clips are made of ancient coins, one with a palm tree, the other with pillars from Roman architecture. Surrounding the coins are beaded designs. The clips are attached with a link chain.
