When at the synagogue, it is tradition to wear a tallit, prayer shawl, over one's shoulders. Decorative clips are used to keep the shawl in place. Made from pewter, these clips are gorgeously handcrafted as hamsas. A hamsa is the shape of a hand that is used to symbolize a defense against the "evil eye." They are hand-painted in a beautiful blue and decorated with silver plated filigree designs with an eye in the center. A Swarovski crystal acts as the pupil of the eye! The clips are attached to one another with a link chain.
